Description: ASK Power’s Heavy Duty Butt Splices incorporate chamfered entry and long crimp barrels. They are available as crimp or solder splices and feature tinned MIL-SPEC plating, formed from high-purity annealed copper with heavy duty walls. These Heavy Duty Butt Splices provide excellent ductility, conductivity, secureness and tang strength. Splices accommodate wire sizes 8 Gauge through 4/0 AWG and from 250-1000 MCM. Crimp barrels are sized to closely match commercial battery and power cable strand diameters. Splices are non-insulated with the wire gauge and UL mark marked clearly on wire barrel.

Recommended Uses: These cable splices are used for power transmission and/or grounding in automotive or transformer applications. Flared barrels allow ease of insertion of more highlystranded battery cable into funnel-entry crimp barrels.

Tooling and Application: Splices can be applied to cable via handactuated or hydraulic crimp tools. Our Heavy Duty Butt Splices are UL Listed (UL 486 A) for use with the Thomas and Betts M5 tool or the Burndy tool. These same splices can be connected by solder-dipping. Double crimp provides superior pullout resistance. Color-coding provides field installation guidance for matching cable, splice, and crimper color codes per industry-accepted standards.
